Shenandoah

Traditional

For tuba and piano

A slow, wide-open sea song: one voice sings a line, the whole crew answers. Sailors sang it at the capstan while raising the anchor; Cecil Sharp printed it in 1914 under the name “Shanadar”, with this piano part.
