Prelude in C minor

Frédéric Chopin

For tuba and piano

Thirteen bars of slow, heavy chords, like a funeral procession: loud at first, then the same steps again quietly, and once more almost in a whisper, before one long final chord. It is No. 20 of Chopin’s 24 Preludes, one in every key, which he finished on Majorca in the winter of 1838–39.
